Week 5 - Setting up the Computer and OS

 The content of this week made me realize more clearly how the modern peripherals can be integrated into a complete computer system, be it a single computer or a network. I was intrigued by the fact that peripherals have ceased to be mere plug-and-play devices and have become parts of workflows, security aspect, and productivity. For example, a printer, external memory, and input devices should be set up correctly to be compatible and efficient, particularly in a networked setting. It also helped me to understand that peripheral selection and management is equally as crucial as internal hardware component selection.

Another thing that struck me during the Windows installation was the planning procedure, which required preparation before the actual installation of the operating system. Such measures as checking hardware requirements, selecting the appropriate version and partitioning planning can avoid significant problems in the future. I also know that after-installation processes, including driver installation and updates, and security settings, are vital in system stability and security. The overview of automated installation tools demonstrated how business can save time and minimize errors in deploying a variety of systems, which relates to real-world IT environment.

Week 2 - The steps to to an efficient OS

This week made me more prepared to comprehend how an operating system, such as Windows 10, and Windows 11 are created to enhance the usability and productivity. The most notable lesson that I have learned was the ease in using a graphical user interface (GUI) to interact with a computer. Users are able to move around the menus, icons, and well-organized layouts instead of using orders and commands hence multitasking is very easier. This can be particularly handy when managing several applications simultaneously and keeping things in order in school or at work. I also got to know that these graphical features are not always helpful in any case. They demand system resources such as memory and processing capabilities which can make the performance in older machines slow. Week 4 - The importance of proper installation and maintenance

 This week I learned that it is important to install and maintain the computer hardware properly not just in respect of performance but also in respect of reliability and security. Through the readings and videos, it was highlighted that such components as motherboards and hard drives should be handled with care, installed properly, and compatibility should be taken into account. I learned that such minor mistakes as improperly placed components or improper cable connections might lead to significant system problems. Another important lesson to me was the talk about airflow and its direct effect on the system health. Managing airflow is not only important to ensure a system is kept cool, but also to eliminate the chance of hardware failure, minimize the noise levels produced by overworking fans and to increase the service life of the hardware.
